J.S. Ririe is the pen name of Jan Hill, an author whose books appeal to younger and older readers alike.
Jan spent her youth in the country, where she learned to appreciate solitude, create her own entertainment, and enjoy romance novels by writers including the Brontë sisters, Louisa May Alcott, Victoria Holt, and Phyllis Whitney. She wrote her first novel as a teenager but did not pursue writing as her greatest passion until much later.
While waiting two years to testify as the lead witness in a federal case involving the school district where she taught broadcasting and journalism, Jan found that writing Brylee’s story helped her through a frightening period.
Jan lives in Utah and has two children and two living grandchildren who bring meaning and joy to her life.
