JANE BLOMSTRAND
Jane Blomstrand is an educator with over 30 years of experience in schools. Her roles have included classroom teacher, literacy specialist, elementary school principal, and director of a teacher-credentialing program.
Her first book, Meet the Principal: My Journey Beyond the Curriculum, began with a question from her grandchildren: “What DOES a Principal Do All Day?” The answer grew into a collection of vignettes about the challenges of school leadership and the relationships principals form with students, staff, and parents.
Recognizing that the magic happens in the classroom, Jane wrote Teaching with Heart: Making Student Connections That Count, drawing on research and conversations with teachers and administrators about helping students succeed through meaningful connections.
Jane currently coaches new school administrators and lives with her husband in Northern California.
